Prof. S Y Kulkarni is a professor of at Indian Institute of Technology, Roorkee. He had been on the faculty since 1977. From January 1987 to July 1989, he was a visiting faculty at Baghdad Technologia and also at University of Mosul in Iraq. He was also a visiting faculty at Nepal Engineering College at Kathmandu, Nepal during the summer of 1999. From 2007 to 2010 He was head of the Department, IIT Roorkee. He worked at Central Building Research Institute, Roorkee as Scientist ‘B’ in Health building World Bank project. Professor Kulkarni has a vast teaching and research experience and has research papers and consultancy projects to his credit. He has supervised PhD and many Masters thesis and several undergraduate projects. He has won design competition and also he worked on the campus master plan: Vision 2020 for the Indian Institute of Technology, Roorkee. Professor Kulkarni firmly believes that concentration in learning and compassion in teaching are two invaluable virtues for students and teachers in our life long process of education system.
